I have decided to revive the journal. However, it will be used only as a venue for my political views. TODAYS TOPIC: THE WAR IN IRAQ
For those of you who OPPOSE the war: go to hell. Can you not see the dire need for democracy in the Middle East? The export of oil is essential for life in the US, and the entire civilized world, for that matter. If the world lets Iraq rebuild on its own, there is the real possibility for the rise of another Saddam Hussein. The installation of another tyrant would put billions of dollars of oil in question, and could lead to dictatorial containment of the worlds foremost fossil fuel exporter. THE NEED FOR A US PRESENCE IN IRAQ IS ESSENTIAL.
There are those who will argue that we shouldn't be there because soldiers are dying. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT, ITS A WAR!!! Last time I checked people joined the ARMED Services to defend our country at any cost. The men in Iraq are dying bravely for the cause of democracy: lets appreciate their service and stop bad mouthing the US occupation.
The US/Allied victory in the European Campaign of WWII is regarded as one of the pinnacles in the history of our country. There we took a stand against 2 of the most sadistic dictators the world has ever known, men who tortured, killed, raped, and pillaged thousands of innocent people. Hundreds of thousands of men died in that conflict, but their actions have lead to vibrant diplomatic relations with former Nazi-Germany and Fascist-Italy. SOUND FAMILIAR, FOLKS???? THE US REMAINS STEADFAST IN ITS FIGHT FOR DEMOCRACY THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE WORLD.
GOD BLESS AMERICA, ITS TROOPS, AND PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH.
